August 25, 1944 In France Dear Dave, Thanks a lot for the copy of "Scuttlebutt". You don't realize just how much they help the boys from home. It sure is good to hear some news of whats going on around home, instead of war news all the time. By the way Dave, there's a rumor going on over here that the Jerries are in control of Berlin. No kidding, from the sound of the news, Berlin, is just about all that Jerry has left. Believe you me, he sure is taking a beating. Well lets all hope that this year will see the end of the war here. Thanks again for the "Scuttlebutt", just don't forget me next month. I used to carry your papers for you, remember. My how time flys. Say hello to every one for us boys over here.
