Italian Front Aug 30, 194 Dear Dave, Last night I got my first Scuttlebutt, two in fact. Say, they are nice! I got a lot of good out of them. Was the first I knew about the Honeymead plant. I'd been thinking that there should be a big grain elevator there in Washington long before the war. War news is very good at this writing but I know every mile our armies gain costs a lot of work and tremendous costs in equipment and men. Hope the Germans don't give up too soon. We want to punish them a little while yet. Tell Louise Porter and everyone connected with the Scuttlebutt that their work is much appreciated. Hope you had a good time at the Y convention.
