Somewhere in Eng 10 Sept. 1944 Dear Dave Well Cousin, I guess we are about 6 times removed I finally made it over the briny deep and to the place where you can see there really is a war going on. I have seen some of the ruins of war & the people really must have a lot of guts to keep on trying when things seem so much against them. I have rec'd. 3 Scuttlebuts since arriving so guess you got my new address O.K. I really enjoy the new feature and don't know what I would do without your paper. I do wish you could include the A.P.O.'s of the men & women tho that are over here. With their A.P.O. & through the Red Cross I can get in touch with them quite easily. It has been quite interesting talking with the British people & learning their customs & money. My experience as ass't mgr. with Mr. Fellows got me into a job as the P.X. mgr. Since we did business in English money I had to learn it in a hurry, but it was quite simple once you caught on to it. Well Dave, this isn't much of a letter, but at least you know I'm thinking of you & look forward to its Hot Poop sheet each mail call. Convey my thanks to all those who work so hard getting it out. Hello to Max, [illegible], Bill, Harry all all the rest of the office gang. Jack
