France Oct. 14, 1944 Dear Friend, I will write you a few lines in order to let you know that I have “[illegible]”. (Censored) It isn't too bad over here - of course you realize we are never on the Front. We have occupied a old German base and have rebuilt it so we can operate from here. We live in a French village. You can look around and see G.I.'s leaning out the upper story windows. I have visited a couple of the nearby towns
