miles north of Detroit near lake Huron at a RCAF station. Our American personnel are here for 4 months schooling an you know what. We go to school from 8 to 5 & that's all. No C.Q., guard duty, K.P. or any other such detail. It is a small post and were really treated royally. Of course there's lots we've had to learn & lots yet to learn about Canadian customs & army S.O.P. but its really sort of a lark to we G.I's, especially after Robins Field. We get a 36 hours pass every weekend and every fourth weekend a 48 hours pass, with permission to go just as far into the States, or anywhere else, as time allows. Amazing part of that is there's been not one AWOL case yet up here in 2½ years, I'm told. I'll also get 5 days off for Christmas which won't go on my service record and you can bet that doesn't make me unhappy! While here, Dave, we receive 20% additional base pay since we're outside the Continental limits of U.S.A. and will also be entitled to wear the American Defense ribbon. That part of the setup really almost make me ashamed of myself but I suppose they would be giving this setup to someone else if not to me. As you probably know, our dollar
