Oct 20, 44 Dear Dave As I am a very poor hand at writing I have put this off for a long time but decided I had already waited too long to thank you for your most wonderful paper. It sure is a very interesting paper and keeps us boys very well posted on what our old friends are doing. I wish that if you have the chance you would pass my thanks on to Ted Brown as my wife tells me he is responsible for your getting my address. Pat Reynolds was always telling me I should write you and give you my address and I was ready to do it when one mail call up turned a scuttlebutt. I have been receiving them every since. I was in the same Troop Carrier out fit that Pat was until August and then our crew was transferred to Gen Bradleys plane. It’s a very interesting job and we have met about all the big brass including Gen’s Marshall and Eisenhower. One day we had three
