France Oct 29, 1944 Dear Dave, Yes, its finally me getting around to dropping you a few lines. I’m terriabely sorry I couldn’t write sooner. You see we have been so terriabely busy for about the last two months that letter writing just didn’t fit in very well. So I’m hoping you will understand. I have been receiving the the Scuttlebutt regularely. And always look forward to getting it. I have received fife issues sence I last wrote. I’ll try and do a little better from here on out. I am writing this letter under very strang circumstances. Right now I am sitting in larg, well at least quit a big slit trench. It has an overhead covering composed of logs and good old mother earth. This
