February 18, 1944 Dear Dad & Mom: Another lazy day, wasnt very busy, got my hair cut, saw a very good picture at one of the post theatres "The Imposter." Was about the fall of France and a group of men who joined up with the Free French in Africa. Havent had anymore letters since day before yesterday, got the ones mailed the 10, 11 & 12 so thats pretty good service. Must write to Jim tonight or they'll began to wonder about me. Certainly would like to see them. Pammy has the measeles and is really broken out from what Irma said. Dont have any desk or chair to write this on so it may not be very legible am writing this on my bunk and it doesnt work as well. Think Ill wash out a few clothes tomorrow have some Rinso and a bucket so all the job needs is elbow grease. Hope you have received my first letter by now and aren't worrying about anything you may have read in the newspapers or heard over the radio. I have tried a couple of times to call you but there were such long delays on the lines that I cancelled them. Must shave & shower so will sign off for tonite. Love-Johnny
