February 19, 1944 Dear Dad & Mom: Had a nice letter from you today which of course I enjoyed. Sure glad Buck got back home for another furlough, so he and Lizzy finally made the leap, hope they are very happy. Guess they make a good couple and she can keep her eye on him. I'm sorry you have to do your washing after all these years, there must be someone who would do it in town. Maybe it wouldnt suit you tho after Mrs. Schrieners good work. Dont overdo thats the main thing, cant the Oehmiern laundry do it? I should write to Uncle Raymond I guess or he'll think Ive forgotten him. I thought that game knee of his never bothered him but evidently laying floors put a kink in it. I may be able to see Jim yet, had just about given up hopes but there is still a chance. Still havent written him. Seems like I have plenty of time but something always interferes. I'm not in New York City as you may think from my new address, but cant say any more than that about my whereabouts. Its quite a decent camp
