February 28, 1944
Dear Dad & Mom:
Just finished shaving & showering, so will try and write a bit before I turn in.  For a wonder there was hot water so it was a pleasure rather than an ordeal.  Washed my head too, doesnt take it long to dry out Ive got a short hair cut, not a regular G.I. but shorter than I usually wear it.
Will get paid tomorrow sometime so can have that to look forward to.  Still have some money but guess Ill hang on to it just in case I want to buy something.  My savings account will suffer but be that as it may.
Got an awfully nice letter from Irma this morning, wrote them as soon as I got back.  Gosh I had a good time up there which I might go back for a long visit.  Jim said he wished he might hire us as he can get no help, man would I have liked that for a change.
I'm having an awful time getting this written, too many visitors and too little to write about.  I wonder if anything Ive written so far has been censored out of my letters, cant see why it should have been but some of the fellows say theirs have been cut up quite badly.
