part of this month a hundred bucks. I'm going to cable some home soon as I brought more than I can use. If the Pitts place does sell and Dad and Mr. Antes think the price is right and I don't need to borrow too much it would fit in with my farm very well. It has been farmed hard tho and will need a lot building up. It shouldn't run too high without buildings however. Have to stop for tonight, its dark will carry on in the morning - Saw a fellow from Waterloo a few days ago. He has been over here for a long time. One of the merchant marines on our ship coming over was a Mississippi river fisherman from Lansing so I had quite a visit with him about Northwest Iowa, says its the best place he has ever seen in his travels. There is a beautiful valley near here that is nice, acres and acres of land dotted with wheat fields and [illefigible], makes a pretty sight. Got a kick out of the two wheeled carts they have here pulled by little burros or small horses. A while family will ride on one cart, some are painted bright colors and the harness is [illegible] or nickel mounted and has little bells on it. There are certainly some contrasts in modes of transportation. Met a little Italian boy the other day, a very interesting little chap, most of the kids are dirty little beggars but this little fellow was
