Sun. Feb. 4 [1945] Dear Dave It has taken a long time, I know, but I am finally getting around to it. I still do appreciate getting the Scuttlebutt, even if I dont let you know about it. They don't come too regular, but I never worry about that. They do all eventually get here. We had liberty around here yesterday, and about the only thing I know of to write about would be that, so here goes. Here on liberty you have two choices of what to do. Liberty runs from 8 AM to 7 PM. There are several towns, the largest one about the size of Col. Junction. Not quite a metropolis. Your two choices are - you can either soak up some imitation island rum or whiskey, bars are open from 10 till 12, and from 1 till 2:30. Sgt. R.F. Haney
