[Feb 21? 1945] Dear Dave Well Well Well believe it or not I am able to write you. Boy them letters are realy swell. A while back you said at the end of one of your letters to keep the letters coming. Why don't we put it this way Dave you keep the letters coming and we will keep Japs going. How does that sound. oh yes Dave your letters are swell and I am sure that all of the boys and girls from Wash. really thankfull for them. Well thear isn't mutch to write about. I am in Burma and have been on the Burma Road - am part of the (marines?) [illegible] in 47th Inf. Tell every one hellow for me that the war is not over by a long ways. I got some back mail 82 letters not bad. Four of them are Scuttlebuts. You know Dave I bet you cant gess what we are sleeping in. Parachute huts and bambo for frame work and bambo beds. I haven't met any body from home yet but have a darn good buddy from from Fairfield Iowa. Bob Crowe: Do you know him. Well I gess thats it for this time Pleasant thoughts David [Pfc. David Galloway]
