22 February 1945 A.A.F.B.S. - Box 281 Big Spring, Texas Dear Dave, Well, here's another few lines. I forgot if (Miss Meek's?) still is the local news gatherer, so am sending it to you, hoping you will do me the favor of getting it in the right department. Has been rather cold here the past few days, with lots of strong winds. Luckily, we had just enough rain to settle the dust, so did not have a dust storm. Did have a little snow with it. Was flying over Clovis, N. Mexico, this morning, and there was quite a bit of snow on the ground there. Our snow didn't amount to anything, just enough to see it if you looked real hard. Am receiving the Journal O.K. Thanks a lot for the favors. Will you please insert the following in the local news. Lr. Kenneth J. Blecha and Mrs. Blecha are the parents of a 9 pound boy, born 20 Feb. 1945, at the Big Spring Army Air Field Hospital. He has been named Kenneth John Jr. Lt. Blecha is assigned as a pilot with the training department at the Big Spring Bombardier School, Big Spring, Texas. Mrs. Jennie Kerr, mother of Mrs. Blecha, is spending several weeks with her daughter at Big Spring. Well Dave, must hit the "sack" as I've got a full day's flying ahead of me tomorrow. Drop me a line when you have time. Sincerely Kenneth [Lt. Kenneth J. Blecha] ]
