Samar. P.O. [in pencil/different handwriting: [March 16? 1945] ] Hello Dave:- I had better take a little time out at this time to let you know I have been getting the Scuttlebutt and sure get lots of good reading from it about the boys & gals I used to know around Wash there. It seems such a short time since I was around there. But still its almost 2 yrs since I came out here to the South Pacific and we have been doing our share of hopping from Island to Island constructing every thing. Of course my job has been to see that there is 3 meals a day gotten out. After that the time left is my own. Don you remember him. He is in the Hawiian Islands the last I heard Herman our second son got him self a job C.L. Doran [C.C.illegible]
