March 20, 1945 Mr. Dave Elder Dear sir, I just want to thank you and all the good people of Washington for sending me the "Scuttlebutt" each week. there is no medicine in the world as good as news from your home. I have been the hospital now since Dec. 1st where I turned in at Pearl Harbor. This makes my fifth hospital I've been into in the past four months. I am improving now though. This is quite a snazzy place here. We have skiing, bowling, ice skating, swimming, and many other activities. We had a big ski carnival here last Sunday. It was the first one since the outbreak of the war. I was a big success some of the best skiers in the world were here. I saw a ski jump for the first time. It is really a thrill to see a man sail through the air for a 180 ft. on skiis and land on his feet at that speed. Well I'm probably boring you so I'll close saying thanks agin for everything. your Sincerely Floyd Leslie [Floyd M. Leslie MOMM 3/c]
