My dear Mrs. Whitley,
I was very glad to hear from you, and, now dear friend, let me express to you my sympathy in your great sorrow.
Now to tell you a little of our work.
I am enclosing some of the clippings from the papers. I am unable to find the paper with the first announcement in it. For some of the material I received it stated that publicity matter would be sent to local papers and in another it said not to issue any news or publicity material until we received full instructions. We have only weekly papers and so often material does not reach us in time to get it in that week so it has to go over till another week. We were told that leaflets would be furnished us from Washington to be distributed as widely as possible. I didn't even get enough to supply my township chairman with proper information. It has made the work harder on that account. I do not want to find fault but it has been a hard time for the drive. The ministers
