Camp Near Helena Jan 11th 1863 Dear Pa & Ma-- I have just returned from the 4th Cavalry. went out yesterday morning. stayed out all night with George. He had just received a letter from you dated Jan 2nd which I was glad to hear from you all. I do not know why it is that I have not recived the letters that you have writen. the only one that I have received is the one that you you answered that I wrote when at St. Louis. while out at the 4th last evening orders came for the Reg. to report at Town. they were packing up when I left. have not seen George since morning. from what I can learn, they are to remain in Town. There is a nother expidition goinng down the River Comanded by Gen Hovey Turn over
