Oct. 10, 1943 Sunday - Dear Mother, If you haven't yet sent the suitcase, you might add that folding umbrella. I haven't been able to get the check cashed yet, but should in a day or so. I had a grand time at Farr's last night. Don & his wife, Lloyd & his wife (formerly of New Hampton) Russell Neese (Charles City) & his wife (Ruth Howard of my Fr class, Charles City, & a friend of Edith Freder) and Lorraine Scallon were there. They send regards. We had nice refreshments & then I played & they all bellowed popular songs until about midnight. Lloyd took me to my bus, & so home. Love, Helen
