gum while here and her bill at a downtown dentist was $18. for three visits. I won't want my ration book but I do want to get a pair of shoes as soon as the next stamp is good. Is the stamp good by itself, or must you send the book? It is good the 1st of November, isn't it? If you have any meat stamps that aren't going to be used, you might send them in a letter. One of the instructors whom we like very much has adopted a pair of stray dogs and they have 13 puppies. He can't get horsemeat all the time so would appreciate any spare points. Wonder what Marjorie has produced! She must have been excited to leave it blank. Tonight Peggy Cobb and Helen Crumm (a girl who is scheduled for overseas & who will finish when I do) & I went down in the rain and ate at one of our favorite spots called Tally Ho. Helen taught at Iowa State last year and three years ago. She was on some sort of assistant's fellowship, I think. Tell Betty I'd very much like to borrow Eric for an hour or so. I have to write three sports stories for Monday. You know, I just don't believe I will be able to manage that lovely big suitcase! I'm afraid it is just too much with all the other equipment. The girls who are clearing for overseas are cutting their things down to a small case.
