typhus shots till I get back to Washington. I don't mind them a bit. They give them very carefully & I have yet to feel the needle go in. One of the recreation workers here had a bad case of flu a few weeks ago when she got back from a trip to Boston. They gave her some tablets that gave her a temperature of 102 for one night & within 36 hours she said she'd never have known she'd been sick. Some sulfa or penicillin or both. The food is very good & there's lots of it. Steak, roasts, good vegetables, Boston cream pie, cakes, chocolate eclairs, etc. & plenty of milk & butter. It's fun to go by the guard night & morning & have them just give a cheery "good-night!" or "good morning"! It makes you feel you belong. Love, Helen P.S. Headquarters tells me by card that they gave the seed package out to the U., so Sara probably ate the cake.
