column for this weeks issue of the camp paper & then go with a Gray Lady & a rolling piano to the Neuro-Psychiatric ward for group singing in the afternoon. Wednesday I have off. Thursday I work afternoon & night & Friday morning & afternoon. Then I have Sat, Sun. & Mon. off & Monday night we go back to Washington. I think I'll work as I choose those days as I enjoy it & there isn't much to do here. Shirley, where we room, is very small & reminds me much of Waucoma. Even to the mill-pond. Being surrounded by hundreds of men, one feels even more insecure than when there are few. Sort of like a cafeteria with too many things in sight. It's like being in a big family with a thousand brothers, all of them adoring & anxious to please. I don't think a girl's hat size would ever be the same afterward. I have one particularly clinging follower who smokes a pipe, corners me at every opportunity and wants to take me to Boston on a spree. He has a wife, but says modestly that he thinks he could have done better!
