be about 15 of us & we've been promised the Loft at Tally-Ho restaurant--a nice cosy spot a couple of blocks from here. I guess I'll give you another restricted item, just for fun. You remember that I said something about Peggy Cobb's European adventure? Well, she had a rare experience during the Spanish civil war. She & a school chum were touring Morocco when an American newspaper man they met asked them if they'd like to go to Spanish Morocco. They said they would & they did. While there they were guests of the local Fascist dictator, rode in his car, receiving Fascist salutes and enjoying themselves hugely and quite innocently. Then when they went back into French Morocco they were snapped up by French Military Police so fast they didn't know what was happening. French spies had watched them & thought they were Fascist spies. They were jailed, gone over with a fine toothed comb & their photographs confiscated. Finally the police were convinced they were just dumb & let them go. Peggy hopes the FBI doesn't get wind of that when she applies for overseas work! Love, Helen [note in margin: Note about Peggy Cobb. The FBI did not clear her for overseas duty & she had to do domestic service.]
