2 fresh when they got here. I saved 3 days by phoning Saturday to see if there was a package & then going & getting it. Will do the same at the end of the week & see if I can haul in the one with requests. I sent Rhoda, Don's little girl, a box of Magic Drawing books. I wanted to do something & I think children's things are always appreciated. Tomorrow I want to get a box of bonbons for the McGarveys as they are their favorites, especially Aunt Louise's. I don't know yet whether or not I'm going over Christmas. Yesterday's permanent was quick & very painless. My hair is very short again & will be easy to care for. I think I forgot to tell you that Wil also told me he had been offered the job of Head of Civilian Defense (OCD), but that he didn't want it as he thought it was a dead duck. Your letter 15 came today; so far the series is unbroken. I'll answer it & then go back to my unfinished business. It is highly unlikely now that I'll join the unit till it leaves the country. That's what makes it so comical. I know I could get here as fast as it could move to port, but Red Cross apparently doesn't know, [note in margin: Note: My Hosp, the 91st is still at Clinton, Iowa (Schick Gen.)!] & who am I to tell them.
