in Brooklyn." I liked "Hearts" & like "Tree". In "Hearts" I was very much interested when she said they saw some of the scenes of "So Proudly We Hail" filmed & spoke of the writer of it being Allen Scott. That was the movie about the nurses on Bataan. So that is where he has vanished to! She spoke of the excellent writing. Today I packed in earnest, and tomorrow I am going on a hunt for a slightly larger duffle bag. Some of the girls have larger ones & I seem to need a little more space. How odd! Today I got nice notes from Betty, Katharine Young & Helen Focht [note in margin: Dean of Student Affairs at SUI]. What a cute idea to send me a sketch of the stamps! I shall look forward to seeing the original--and the giver! Helen Farr phoned tonight & visit. They were pleased with Rhoda's gift. Don was working even today. They want to see me before I go. I stenciled my Red Cross serial number on things today, as one of the girls said you had to at the port. It is 32061, incidentally. Tomorrow night we remnants meet again. It will be fun to see who is still here. I hope I won't be by next Monday! It has been fun to rest up and putter around, but I'm getting impatient. I have no more room & no more money & when shopping is taken out there is a gap. Have the pictures come? I sent them Tuesday. Love, Helen
