1 Jan 1945 Dear Dave: Thanks so much for the Scuttlebut it is very fine and a wonderful thing that you are doing for the Guys and Gals in the service. It is always good to get news from home. I was much surprised to run into Mike Wheeler here just after I arrived. Mike was sent to Brooklyn Saturday where the boys are formed into gun crews to ship out. I am due to go to New Orleans on Jan 12 and there to be assigned to a ship which I hope will be a fairly new one. Give the boys at the Journal and the Coffee Club my regards. Sincerely Mrs. Erbe [Lt(jg) W. A. Erbe]
