[1945] Mr. Dave Elder c/o The Scuttlebutt Washington Iowa Pvt Lee E. Moore 37041252 HQ BTRY 687 FABN APO #403 c/o Postmaster New York N.Y. Jan. 31. Dear Dave, Just received the 42 drip and in it you remind us all that if we want to keep on geting the Scuttlebutt that we must keep you informed of our change of address. Well I am shure of one thing, and that is that I want to keep on geting it, best thing I get over here outside of letters from home. So here is my new address HQ BTRY 687 FA BN A.P.O. #403 c/o PM New York N.Y. I have been over now a little more than a year and have been geting your paper for several months now. It shure helps me to keep up with the boys from home. Since I joined the army in "'41" I have never run on to anyone from home and just a very few from Iowa. Good luck to you and your staff and keep up the good work. As ever Lee (Shorty) Moore
