4 which so many owe so much to so few. That is just the way I feel and I'm sure every man in the Infantry agrees. I wrote this letter in response to Hal's letter concerning the differences in Infantry and Air Corps basic training, but there is one thing I will agree with Hal on, he has a lot to fight for and believe me Dave, I'll fight every inch of the way to help him in winning the war and to avenge a great loss, a fellow soldier by the name of Sgt. Bill Longer that gave his all for our beloved American democracy. Well I've taken enough of your time Dave so I'll close now. Once again, thanks a million for the Scuttlebutt, and thanks from me to all of the people that contribute to the postage of such a morale builder to all of the boys from Washington that are serving Uncle Sam. I'll keep you posted on any change of address which may be very soon. Keep the Scuttlebutt coming, Dave. Tell Bill Shannon hello for me. Well, I'll see you in Tokio, Dave. Yours sincerely, [Pvt.] Dick Marshall
