Thursday, May 3rd, '45 "Pacific" Dear Friend Dave, I feel it only my duty to write my opinion of the well known, "Scuttlebutt." Especially after I have read the numerous compliments from all the local fellows on all fronts. Anyway it really does the trick in coming through with the dope on the whereabouts of everyone on the Scuttlebutt Roster. I really appreciate the fact that you added my name to the list. As yet, I haven't been fortunate enough to run into anyone from Washington. Two or three times I have only been a few miles from Cloid Willits Jr. but was unable to contact him only by correspondence. Old man fate seemed to be pushing my way also, when I just missed seeing Chuck Holden, Don Bayer, Milo Steele and several others in the same group of Islands, a few months ago. Certainly would like to have contacted them. It helps the morale considerable. Incidentally, from information from home and through the Scuttlebutt, our home town, as usual, is definitely well represented
