2 June 45 Luzon, P.I. Dear Dave: Have been receiving the Scuttlebutt for some time and have enjoyed it very much. Would have written sooner but was expecting to move and have been very busy since moving. We are setting up a 2000 bed hospital in a coconut grove near the ocean & it will be fine when it is finished. It seems to be much warmer here than it was in New Guinea. We are living in tents & when the wind blows & it rains, which it does every day we have our troubles. Lots of sticky greasy mud. We have native washer women and later on expect to have a good many Filipinos working for us. The "point" system is a favorite topic of conversation, but little definite information as to just how it will affect individuals is available so far. Have hopes of getting back to the States sometime this year. Im fine actually but have seen enuf of the tropics to do me for a long time. Best wishes & hope you can keep the Scuttlebutt going. Bill Boice [Lt. Col. W.A. Boice]
