FRIEDBERG (APO 758) 15 July 45 Dear Dave: Rather slow in getting this new APO to you - but have been waiting to see if it would be final. Since the War's ended have been in three armies, 7th at present. Not doing much now other than just sitting around bitching about everything in general. Have been going to Frankfurt almost every afternoon & working out a little (damn little) for track. Been in several meets & our squadron has done well considering everything. Redeployment has finally begun to hit us & are losing all low pointers & of course they're being replaced with fellows from other units eligible for freedom. The entire outfit will come back as a unit of high pointers to be demobilized - & we hope that'll be before Christmas. Quite doubtful though. Have been having "beastly" hot weather lately so we've been doing as much swimming as possible. One elegant pool is just a few miles from here & a couple more at Frankfurt, 20 miles. Saw Bill Robertson a few weeks ago at Bad Homburg - & he knew of Paul Pfieffer's whereabouts so we called on him. Sincerely hope by the time you've changed my APO - I'll be on the way & will have to cancel remaining Scuttlebutts - although they'll certainly be missed. Only thing that keeps our morale two points above rock bottom is the fact we'll all be civilians once we get back to the states. Naw - I have no regrets of five years of this. It takes points to get results - All for now - hope to see ya' soon. H. Wolf (T/5 H. Wolf)
