Men were killed & wounded in all branches & when that happens - it doesn't make much difference what you are in - except that with some you are less likely to be gotten back when you are only wounded. However I will always feel like taking my hat off to a combat infantryman or an airborne boy. I just happen to know what some of them went thru. Enuf of that. Just now I am doing very little & hoping - almost against expectation - that I will get home. This whole of Europe isn't worth, in my opinion the American lives we have lost over here. But we are on a proving ground of Europe now. To the east of us a couple of Kilometers the Russians are operating. If they do a better job than we - if they make their form of government seem more efficient it is hard to tell how far westward their system will progress.
