in the Mariana Islands as well as Lt. Bob Connor. We were there quite some time ago but never new anyone from home was there. Have never gotten to Guam as yet. I have quite a list of fellows I know on that Island. Thinks have been rather quite & the Japs aren't bothering us at our present location to much. (thank goodness). Just had a true Navy inspection yesterday as it was Saturday. Things were in better shape than I had expected. I have about 23 men in my division at present & it's just a little short. By now some one of the Journal force should be tired reading this letter & know doubt that is you. The scuttlebutt is really appreciated by this serviceman. I only wish I had known its information value sooner. As Ever Griff.
