June 10, 1918 Dear Dad Have just gotten up out of bed and am able to walk around a little. I gotta little gas and it put me in the hospital. I was with Capt. Fleur. I may never get back to my old Company altho St. Riley says I will, but may be sent to a replacement camp and sent up as an infantryman. I feel pretty good altho the second, third, and fourth days in the hospital were tough ones, nothing to eat but hot milk. We have good grub now and have been sent to a base hospital at a famous old summer resort far famed for its mineral baths and wonderful parks and drives. It is a wonderful place. They have a theatre here that is a wonder, the most beautiful room I ever saw. it is used by the
