June 26 Dear Dad, Have at last been released from the hospital and am now resting up at a casual camp waiting to be sent to my outfit again. We have nothing to do but eat and sleep and I'm sure taking advantage of it. The soldiers are sure swarming into France from the State. I saw one today from Camp Dodge. He lived at Elgin, Iowa. Have not recieved any mail for quite a while. I think it must be following me around though. I saw Sergt McNames the other day he is looking thin. I guess the school is a fraud. He doesn't seem to be particularly stuck on ot and he should know if anybody does. July 1 Back again to the old outfit. Feeling a little weak but think
