While we were in the hospital they took our clothes away from us because they were full of gas and they gave us old Frenchmen's clothes to wear and they looked lovely to say the least. Lieut Riley heard about it and one day brought me down a regulation shirt and cap and a couple of days later a pair breeches so I wouldn't look so much like a Frenchman.
