Shermans march to the sea look like a very small and insignificant affair I dont beleive though that we will ever fight on German soil as they are too slick to keep on fighting when they know there is no chance to win. We are about to jump in and at our feet [illegible] close to a famous French battlefield just watch the papers and you can follow us around wherever there is a big bust up you can bet your last dime we are in it, clean up to our neck. [Leut?] Newquist was wounded near Sergy has been made a Capt. and is to go back to the state. A visit to him would certainly repay you as he can tell you in detail all the things we have been thru. He has always been very good to me treating me as though I was his own
