From Sgt Harry Wertz Nov 12 1918 Dear Dad Well I guess we're almost done scrapping for awhile and we've sure been doing some hiking to keep up with Fritz. Hiking all night by the light of the burning towns and catch up about daylight for about an hour and then chase him again. One town that we took was full of bread and jam and they sure had lots of bread and jam too. And flour galore and almost everything else and the Dutchmans had time to get out and thats about all, some of them didnt do that. We had no losses at all which is wonderful to say the least. Well I must quit at once and go to work. Will write again soon. Sergeant H.W. Wertz M.G. Co 168 Inf
