RTD From Harvey Wertz [Dec 3, 1918] My dear Mother This morning's mail brought me your letter of Sept 15 and I waited for an hour while they were sorting it and considered the time well spent. We are in reserve now while some other gang of fighting men are strafing the Huns. We were in for ten days and Corporal Mebstel, Scott and Pvt Voss from Pomeray are no longer on duty with us. One of the men was supposed to carry a very pistol a little pistol that shoots flares to signal to the artillery. The flares are about 4" long and 2" thick and they go about 100
