Dear Dot your five letter of Dec 4 received today our mail has been delayed somewhere so I was very glad to get it, altho it was full of [illegible] notices it contained the good news that I had another box on the way and that helps fine. I received my x mas box [illegible] six days ago and I certainly enjoyed it. I also received a letter from [Name] and she told me of the death of her brother John I met him at the [illegible] and he was in the 7th Inf. and was killed in action Oct 4. They know none of the particulars of his death and she asked me to find out all I can and I certainly
