[Sept. 3, 1945] Aerographers' School Training Unit U.S. Naval Air Station Lakehurst, N.J. Monday, 11 AM Dear Dave, Well, as you can see, I have done a little traveling. I am changing from mailman to weather man. The work is tough but interesting. This base is really up here in the woods of Jersey. We're surrounded by pine trees, lakes etc. The country is really vigorating, but we're a long ways from nowhere here. This place is just about a mile from the main air station which is a huge blimp station, and used to be a summer resort. Our barracks is just a big house & we live in a room for two. There is a golf course, tennis courts, baseball field, lake, and everything that goes with a summer resort, but I find that there is a lack of time. Thank for the "Scuttlebutt"; news from home is one thing that is appreciated above anything else. As Ever "Freshid" [J. Freshwaters S 1/c]
