Oct. 10, 1945 Athens, Alabama Hi Ya Dave ~ I have intended for a long time to write you all, but since I got my discharge from the army on June 12, I have been quite busy. However, I have thought of you all often and have enjoyed the Scuttlebutt every week. I was lucky to get out among the first under the point system. In April I was sent to Fort Knox, Ky. to Officers Candidate School and from there I went to Ft. McPherson for my discharge. That was really a great day for me. On June 27 I married the girl I was going with then I took the job with you all. We are getting along fine and happy as anyone could be. My wife is teaching at the local high school this year.
