To Washington's ambassador to Canada. Hope you had a nice time. Manila, Luzon Oct. 20th 1945 Hi Dave, I received drips 79 and 80 yesterday and it sure did seem nice to see all of those fellow writing tell you to stop sending the sheet. Don't think I'll be Mr. Arnold until around Easter. I was in the hospital for sixteen days with another attack of Dengue Fever and was allowed to come back to the outfit four days ago, but I've been on light duty. We had over a hundred new men come in so they had to have some one to crack the whip. I always get the dirty end of the stick. Tomorrow I'm going back to work again with my buddies which will seem much better. Now I know why Penicillin is such a much talked about drug. I had 200,000 units shot in my arms and in a couple days I was feeling 100% better.
