10 November, 1945 Dear Mr Elder, This is to let you know that I'm moving again, so please discontinue sending me the "Scuttlebutt" until further notice. Our squadron (VPB-18) is going back to the "States" to be decomissioned. If things turn out the way I hope they will, I will be home on leave for Christmas! Because I don't have to many points I may be stationed at Kaneohe Bay or some other place for awhile. However I'm sure of getting as far east as Hawaii. Tomorrow we will "take-off" as soon as there is light enough to see. It will sure be nice to get back to those fresh, hot water showers again! Fresh milk and ice cream will go good too. Well I still have some gear left to cram into my sea-bag. I can't understand how I accumelate so much junk. Every place I leave, I throw a bunch of stuff away, but by the time I'm ready to leave I have just as much as I started with. So long for now. Respectfully, Bill Barth [Wm. J. Barth AMM 3/C]
