Oahu, T.H. 13 Nov. 1945 Dear Dave & Mabel: A note to thank you for Scuttlebutt. I've read every word & enjoyed every word. This Sat., 17 Nov., I'm being detached so should make it home by Xmas. Oct. 1st I got the other half stripe. Doesn't mean much except more pay & that you've been in the Navy longer. Hope you'll thank all of those who helped get out Scuttlebutt. It is really a swell news sheet. Hope to be able to thank you personally & soon! I'm happy I can reduce your circulation. Who wouldn't be in the service?! Like all I'm past ready to get home!
