San Francisco, California November 2, 1945 "Scuttlebutt" Dave Elder Washington, Iowa Dear Dave, They say it's never too late, okay, I'll take their word for it. This is my first letter to "Scuttlebutt" and naturally I want to thank you and all the wonderful people who have helped get it over here. My first copy arrived soon after Okinawa hit the front pages. It has really brought home and all of my old acquaintances closer to me. I hope it continues to find me for a few more months
