24 December, 45 25th Replacement Depot-Okinawa Dear Dave: Well, Gang this is it!!! This afternoon Santa Claus (who said there wasn't one?) came and left me one passage from this rock to Seattle on a little ship called "Telodago". We will load at 8:00 A.M. on Dec. 26. We should be in Seattle by Jan. 10th or 11th.--and on to Washington via Ft. Leavenworth by Jan 20th. So Dave you can clip my name from your mailing list, but don't forget--I'll bet all my blue chips that I have appreciated and enjoyed your editions of Scuttlebutt as much as the rest of the boys have--and Dave that's a lot. I'm gonna miss it now.
