to conditions at some of the other Receiving Stations. I know that from personal experience. The chow here is good, dischargees are given plenty of liberty (tho' that's an expensive proposition in 'Frisco), and they are sent to their separation center as quickly as train space can be secured. That last is the bottleneck. Contrary to the last, I reenlisted for another four years in October. Still have thirty days reenlistment leave due me, and as soon as Vera leaves Ireland (she's flying over sometime within the next four months) I'll take my leave and meet her in Washington. Will have plenty of time to show her (and show her off to) the Cleanest City in Iowa, before she comes out here. Dave, I want to put in my tuppence worth of thanks for the Scuttlebutt during the past long months. I suppose you'll quit publishing it sometime soon, but it certainly has been a welcome visitor from home for 91 weeks. Cheerio now and I hope it not long until Vera and I drop in to see you. My best to Mabel, and the McDaniels. Have a cherry coke there for me, will you? Les. [Lester Glick, C.Y.]
