[letterhead: Smyrna Army Air Field, Tennessee] Feb 8, 1946 Hello Dave: We won't call this a letter Dave. Just a notification to cross me off the dear old Scuttlebutt list. I guess I was one of the first ones on it & was thinking I was going to be one of the last, but finally they got around to me. I'm leaving in about 2 hours for old J. B. Mo. for seperation. I hope to be a civilian by Wed. at the latest. I want to thank you for sending me the S.B.s Dave. They were really appreciated & looked forward too. Take care of yourself & I'll see you in a few days. Sincerely Max [Cpl. Max D. See]
