Camp Cody N Mex April 21, '18 Dear Vera and all; I'm wondering what you folks are doing tonight. I just came in from practising baseball a little. We sure have some great old ball games down here. Today was certainly a fine day. For a wonder the wind was comparatively still and it was ideal for playing ball. Oh if I only had some green grass and some honest to God shade trees to lay under I'd sure have been in my element. When your letter came I was out to the trenches- twelve miles north of here- we stayed a week out there - Went in the trenches twice, both times at night, just like we will do "over there" Capt.
